This is an official notification from HSBC regarding the status of your pending transfers and the associated fee requirements.
Following a comprehensive review, we confirm that the previously paid amount of $398.00 was applied solely to the intermediary bank (BEN) charge required to initiate and process the transfer instruction. Additionally, the $285.00 fee was allocated to the processing of the $84,000 transaction, which has been completed at the intermediary level.
Please be advised that all SWIFT transfers are subject to both intermediary (BEN) charges and internal receiving bank charges, referred to as “Our Fee.” This HSBC processing fee is applied independently and is required to complete final settlement and authorize the release of funds to the beneficiary account.
HSBC internal processing charges (“Our Fee”) represent the bank’s administrative and settlement costs within the HSBC system. These include final transaction validation, compliance clearance, settlement authorization, and release of funds to the beneficiary bank. Unlike third-party charges, this fee is applied directly by HSBC at the final stage of processing and must be settled before funds can be credited.
It is important to clarify that this fee cannot be deducted directly from the transfer balance. Under international SWIFT settlement regulations and HSBC internal compliance policies, transfers processed under a BEN instruction require that all associated charges be settled separately. This ensures transparency and prevents unauthorized deductions from the principal transfer amount.
Furthermore, the funds are currently held in a “pending release” state within a controlled settlement channel. At this stage, they are not yet credited to an accessible account balance and therefore cannot be used to offset outstanding charges. Internal protocols prohibit partial deductions prior to final settlement.
Additionally, both the $84,000 and $150,000 transfers were processed under a single SWIFT instruction. As such, they are technically and contractually linked and cannot be separated, partially released, or completed independently at this stage.
Accordingly, the outstanding HSBC processing fee of $398.00 must be settled in full before the transaction can proceed to final release. Upon confirmation of payment, both transfers will be released simultaneously and credited to your designated account without further delay.
We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and your continued cooperation.
